Born from a Grandmother's Silk Cupboard
Our founder, Priya Shah, grew up watching her grandmother unfold sarees from old steel trunks — each one carrying stories of weddings, festivals, and everyday grace. When Priya moved to a city, she struggled to find sarees that matched the quality and authenticity she'd grown up with.
In 2019, she made her first trip to Varanasi's weaving lanes, met the families behind the looms, and realised that master weavers were struggling to reach customers willing to pay fair prices for their art.
Rangsaga was founded in 2020 with a simple mission: connect conscious buyers directly with the artisans who weave their sarees — ensuring fair wages, authentic craft, and transparent stories.
